Saint Jean 2007
Saint Jean 30th June 2007.

Saint Jean is the second biggest river in the Gaspe area (the York is the biggest). We had section 2 this day and our guide was Drapper. We started fishing in Lady Gray but we had 4 pools in this section. There are actually 6 but the lower two you can only get to in a canoe.

The Saint Jean is a beautiful river but we did not see a single salmon this day.

I think we have never worked as hard or organized in any river we have fished in but as I said before then we saw nothing this day. It was like there was no salmon in this river. I know how ever that the group that was in this section the day after hooked one salmon.
This river was the fifth river we fished in as many days and we left sure that we would be back one day. I can highly recomend the Malbaie outfitters as they took good care of us and got us into very good waters.
The end of June is a good time to have chance for big salmon and we did see some very big salmon but nether one of us caught one. The biggest salmon caught by the group was 20p+ that Bob caught in the White House pool the day after we fished it.
