Botnsa 2002
Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Keflavik, Botnsa!
30. June 2002.

I had been traveling for work and was flying in from Los Angeles and landed in Keflavik at 6am. I got my luggage, drove home, got the gear and was standing by the river, ready to fish at 8:10am. The photo is of Vidar in Grjothyl with the fly but without success that morning.
The first fishing trip that year and the only fish that day. 5pound female taken in Grjothylur just before noon on a Red Frances 1/2 tube fly.

2. July 2002. Vidar in Grjothylur swinging the fly. Great pool that always holds fish but is very sensitive to activity.

There where some fish running that morning. I saw 10-12 salmons in Efri Blahyl as I was waking by the river. As I came to the pool I saw some rolling in the head of the pool. This one I took then later that afternoon around 6pm. with sea lice all the way to the nose (if they are all the way to the nose then the fish is no more than 4-5 hours in the river).

8. July 2002. I was on my way to fish in Laxa in Refasveit and stopped by Botnsa on the way. Vidar was already fishing and apparently doing great. There was some new fish in the river and while I was there, then he hooked one in Langihylur. I left after he had landed the fish but got a call from him in the evening saying that after I had left then the river was like a parking place outside of a mall during Christmas time! Salmon everywhere!

The King in Botnsdalur with a nice 6pound salmon, I believe he caught 2 that day.
