Palmi Einarsson hails from Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland, and has lived with his family in Orange County, California since 2004. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design from the prestige Design Academy in Eindhoven, Netherlands where his graduation project "Robert" was granted the "People's Choice Award."
His career as a design lead and later an R&D executive at Ossur - a $350M global innovation leader in the orthopedic industry - began in 1997. During the first five years, Palmi designed a number of highly successful prosthetic products, some that remain best sellers.
In 2002 he was promoted to R&D Director of the company's $100M prosthetics division. He relocated to the U.S. in 2004 to lead a new orthopedic R&D division for Ossur. In 2005 he was promoted to VP of R&D, Orthopedics that by then had become almost a $200M business for the company.
Palmi's creativity and passion for design and photography drove him to consult and work on a variety of projects in his spare time and ultimately leave his management position to establish his own firm, enabling him to focus solely on design and photography. He continues to work closely with Ossur as a consultant and contract designer.
Palmi strives to go above and beyond what is expected, and turns things around in a record time. He accepts nothing but the best and always puts everything into what he is doing. He approaches things with professionalism and works hard to keep the budget to a minimum. He makes every effort to stay up to date on the latest software and design trends. His philosophy is that a proper "need analysis" and "research" is the key to a successful outcome.
