Palmi's work is internationally recognized and has been published online, in Photoshop Layers and B&W Special Issue magazine, and the following books: The AVA Guide to Travel Photography, the AVA Guide to Outdoor Photography, and both inside and on the cover of Great Small Hotels. His photographs are sold through photoshelter.com.

The design process he created for Ossur in 1998 was featured in Karl Aspelund's book The Design Process published in 2004. Palmi led the Rheo Knee® design team, a product chosen by Time and Forbes magazines as one of the coolest inventions / 25 best products of 2004, and has since gotten a number of prestigious awards. The Rheo Knee and Palmi's concept and drawings of Ossur's breakthrough knee brace UnloaderOne® were the topic of an article "Brace Yourself" in Forbes magazine in 2007.

His Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design is from the prestige Design Academy in Eindhoven where his graduation project - Robert - was granted the "People's Choice Award." He has an inventor/co-inventor status on close to 100 U.S. and International patents.
